You're The Grapes of Wrath!
by John Steinbeck
You're mired in a deep depression that encompasses you and everyone you know. You're trying to get out of the depression, but your idea of help is, in itself, pretty sad. While some are convinced that this all has a deeper meaning, you're really just dull and tedious. And utterly obsessed with dust. You really need to focus on something other than dust. Your best moments center around turtles.

I got this from Archie.

I'm "The Guns of August" by Barbara Tuchman: "Though you're interested in war, what you really want to know is what
causes war. You're out to expose imperialism, militarism, and nationalism for what they
really are. Nevertheless, you're always living in the past and have a hard time dealing
with what's going on today. You're also far more focused on Europe than anywhere else in
the world. A fitting motto for you might be "Guns do kill, but so can
diplomats." What can I say?
Dan is "Anne of Green Gables"! Here is what it said about him: "Bright, chipper, vivid, but with the emotional fortitude of cottage cheese, you make quite an impression on everyone you meet. You're impulsive, rash, honest, and probably don't have a great relationship with your parents. People hurt your feelings constantly, but your brazen honestly doesn't exactly treat others with kid gloves. Ultimately, though, you win the hearts and minds of everyone that matters. You spell your name with an E and you want everyone to know about it." This doesn't sound much like Dan except for spelling his name with an E.
It's me again. I took it again to correct a question I answered wrong and this time I got "Lolita"!
See, I was Anne of Green Gables the first time but wasn't satisfied so I took it again and got Stienbeck which I thought was cool until I read the description. You rate as one of my favorite histories of all time by the way.
I come up Pale Fire every time I take this one. I think, since I'm in the midst of reading it right now, The Grapes of Wrath is very fitting for you.
Sigh. I know it's not the point of this post, but I love that book!
Emily and Courtney, I love this book too, so I liked the fact that I came up as it. But I don't feel depressed, so I don't really get the connection.
I'm Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein:
"Most people look at you and think of you as a Martian, even though you were born on Earth. Silly Earthlings, er, people. Anyway, you've been telling people about free love and relaxing like it's some radical idea. Most of them want you to go back to the '60's (or Mars), but others are in your groove. Grok on!"
What's kind of sad here is that I don't like Heinlein at all...does that mean I don't like myself? Or is it just part of my strangeness?
